Off-delay timing in an 8-pin octal package
The Omron H3CR-H8L AC/DC24 S is an off-delay timer in the H3CR-H series, built around a DPDT (2 Form C) mechanical relay that holds its contacts through the timed interval after the initiate signal is removed. Timing initiate is triggered by the input voltage itself, so dropping the supply starts the countdown — typical for fan rundown, valve hold-open, or machine cooldown sequencing where the load must stay energized for a fixed window after the run command ends.
Delay range, adjustment, and contact rating
Delay is adjustable from 0.05 sec to 12 sec on a hand dial, giving a single device enough span to cover short contactor-dropout delays as well as longer motor-brake or lamp-afterburn intervals without re-specifying a different range module. Output contacts are rated 5A at 250VAC across the DPDT set — sufficient for direct switching of small contactors, solenoid valves, and indicator loads in a control panel, with the octal plug-in format making socket swap-out the field-replacement action.
Supply, mounting, and panel-side fit
Powered from 24VAC/DC, the unit drops onto a standard 8-pin octal socket — the same footprint used across much of the H3CR family, which keeps panel wiring reusable and lets a maintenance tech carry one base socket for multiple timer variants on the shelf.
