The contact block is rated 5 A at 250 VAC, which governs the real switching envelope: resistive and lightly inductive loads fit comfortably, while any motor starter coil or solenoid pulling more than 5 A has to be driven through an interposing relay rather than directly off the timer contacts.
Timing range and field adjustment

Input voltage initiates the timing, meaning the off-delay starts when the control voltage is removed.
