What it is and what it does
The Omron K3HB-XVD-T23 100-240 VAC is a panel-mount process meter from the K3HB-X series, designed to measure and display DC voltage signals in the ±199.99 VDC range. It accepts a universal 100 to 240 VAC supply, so it drops into standard control panel power without a separate transformer. The front panel carries an IP66 rating — dust-tight and protected against hose-directed water — which makes it suitable for washdown environments in food, beverage, or chemical processing lines where a standard NEMA 1 meter would fail. Five solid-state outputs (sourcing type) are available for alarm, control, or retransmission tasks. The dual-color LCD backlit display shows two rows of five characters each, with the main reading at 0.560" (14.20 mm) and a secondary line at 0.192" (4.90 mm) for engineering units or setpoint values.
Panel fit and wiring
Panel cutout is rectangular at 92.00 mm × 45.00 mm, a common 1/8 DIN footprint. The screw-terminal rear connection accepts standard stranded or solid wire — no special crimp tools needed for field wiring. Operating temperature range is -10°C to 55°C, which covers most indoor panel environments but not unheated outdoor cabinets in freezing climates. An event input is included on the terminal block, allowing external triggering for functions like display hold, peak capture reset, or tare — useful when tying the meter into a PLC sequence without adding a separate communication module.
