The Omron K3MA-J is a 1/8 DIN digital panel meter built for reading DC voltage or DC current signals on a process line. It uses a double integral A/D conversion method and samples every 250 ms, which is fast enough for monitoring tank levels, flow rates, or pressure transmitter outputs — not for catching millisecond transients, but solid for a control room display. The front face carries a NEMA TYPE 4X rating (equivalent to IP66), meaning it's sealed against hose-down and corrosion indoors — typical for a panel door on a washdown skid or a chemical process unit. The case rear is IP20, and the terminals are IP00 with finger protection (VDE0106/100) when the terminal cover is installed. That split rating matters: the front takes the environment, the back stays in the cabinet.
Power supply options — watch your variant
This part comes in two supply-voltage variants. The standard K3MA-J runs on 100 to 240 VAC, 50/60 Hz. There's also a 24 VAC/VDC version (K3MA-J 24 VDC/24 VAC). The allowable range is 85 to 110% of nominal, so the 24 V variant holds from about 20.4 to 26.4 V. Power consumption hits 6 VA max at full load — negligible for a panel power budget, but worth noting if you're on a 24 VDC loop-powered bus.
