Heater Current Monitor on DIN Rail

The Omron K8AC-H21CN-FLK is a dedicated heater element detector from the K8AC-H series, designed to monitor heater current and signal a fault when the draw falls outside the set range. The input range spans 0.20 ~ 2.20 A, which covers small to moderate heater loads typical in injection molding, packaging seal bars, and process ovens. The two solid-state outputs provide isolated fault signalling to a PLC or alarm annunciator.

RS-485 and Supply Voltage

Communications are handled via RS-485 using the CompoWay/F protocol, so the unit can report heater current values and fault status back to a host controller over a multi-drop network. The supply voltage accepts 85 ~ 264 VAC, covering both 100 V and 200 V class mains without a separate transformer tap. Termination is via spring terminals — no screw tightening, which speeds wiring and holds firm under vibration. The 4-digit red LED display shows the measured current value in real time, readable from a few metres away on the panel door.
