DIN-Rail Heater Current Monitor
The K8AC-H22CC-FLK is a dedicated heater element detector from Omron's K8AC-H series, designed to monitor current draw of resistive heater loads and flag a fault when a heater burns out or the circuit opens. Input range covers 2 to 22 A, so it catches the full operating band of most single-phase or three-phase heater strings in that amperage window. The 85 to 264 VAC supply means it runs off any standard line voltage without a separate control transformer — handy when you're pulling power straight from the heater contactor's feed.
RS-485 and Relay Output
RS-485 communication using Omron's CompoWay/F protocol lets a PLC or SCADA poll the detector for real-time current values and fault status — useful for logging heater life or triggering a pre-alarm before the line goes cold. The relay output gives a hard contact for direct alarm annunciation or a safety interlock. Four red LED characters display the measured current value locally, so a technician walking the panel can see at a glance which heater is drawing current and which one dropped out. On/Off control method means it's a threshold-based detector, not a PID loop — set the trip point and it flags when the current falls outside the window.
