Current Sensing Relay for AC or DC Branches
The Omron K8DT-AS2TD is a current-sensing relay for AC or DC systems, adjustable from 0.1 up to 5A, with a solid-state NPN output and a configurable delay between 0.1 and 30 seconds. Supply voltage is 24 VAC/DC, and the relay mounts on a standard DIN rail – no panel drilling needed.
Trip Range and Delay – Setting the Operating Window
The trip range of 0.1 to 5 A AC/DC covers small motor loads, heater currents, and DC drive circuits. Set the potentiometer to the nominal running current; the delay timer then filters out startup inrush or short transients up to 30 seconds. Because the output is a solid-state NPN (sinking) device, it interfaces directly with a PLC digital input or an alarm module – no interposing relay needed. Verify your input card sinks or sources correctly.
