What this relay does in a panel
The Omron K8DT-AW2CD is a current sensing relay that monitors AC or DC current on a load and trips the SPDT output when the current goes above or below the setpoint. The trip range is 0.1 to 5 A AC/DC, and the delay timer is adjustable from 0.1 to 30 seconds, which lets you ride through inrush or short transients without a nuisance trip. It runs on a 24 VAC/DC control supply and switches the relay contacts rated 5 A at 250 VAC. The DIN-rail mount housing snaps into the panel alongside other K8DT-series monitors or a PLC slice, sharing the same 24 V bus.
Setting the trip and delay
The trip range covers 0.1 to 5 A. The adjustable delay spans 0.1 to 30 seconds. It senses both AC and DC. The SPDT relay provides N.O. and N.C. contacts.
