What it is and what it does
The Omron NSJ8-TV01-G5D is a panel-mount integrated HMI/PLC with a TFT color LCD display. It runs on 24VDC, offers 32K words of program memory with battery backup, and communicates via DeviceNet, Ethernet, RS-232C, and USB. I/O expansion is handled through the NSJ backplane, supporting up to 30 modules distributed across three racks — enough for a medium-sized standalone machine or cell. Programming is done via the CX-One software suite, which covers ladder, structured text, and HMI screen design from a single environment.
Physical fit and environment
Rated IP65, the front panel is sealed against dust and low-pressure water jets, so it can be mounted into a panel door in washdown areas or dusty shop floors — no separate HMI enclosure needed. Approvals from CE and cULus cover most industrial installations in North America and Europe; no additional NRTL mark is needed for typical machine builds.
