24 inputs, 16 transistor outputs, dual-fieldbus CPU
The Omron NX1P21140DT1 is a compact PLC from the NX series, packing 24 digital inputs and 16 transistor outputs into a DIN-rail-mountable package with spring-clamp terminals — no screwdriver torque needed on the field wiring. Program capacity is 1.5 MB, with 32 kB non-volatile memory and 2 MB flash for data logging or recipe storage — no battery backup needed for the program retention.
I/O count and expandability for machine control
The base unit gives you 40 I/O points (24 in, 16 out), and the NX1P supports expansion via the NX bus — you can add analog, temperature, or additional digital slices up to the CPU's addressing limit. Transistor outputs are rated 4 A total load current, suitable for driving solenoid valves, contactor coils, or indicator banks directly within that budget. The real-time clock is built in, so time-stamped alarms and batch logs are available without an add-on module.
Programming and fieldbus integration
It supports Ladder Diagram and Structured Text (IEC 61131-3), so you can reuse existing logic or write structured code for complex sequences. The EtherCAT port runs at 100 Mbps, giving deterministic cycle times for motion axes and fast I/O update rates — typical for packaging, assembly, or material-handling lines.
