Controller at a glance
The Omron NX701-1620 is a programmable logic controller from the NX7 series, rated for 24 V operating voltage and equipped with EtherCAT Master, EtherNet/IP, and Ethernet TCP/IP protocols. It supports up to 128 synchronous axes (including virtual axes) for motion control, with a primary task cycle time of 0.125 ms. On-board memory includes 256 MB data memory, 80 MB program memory, and 260 MB for variables, with battery backup and real-time clock.
Integration notes
DIN rail mount, accepts NX I/O bus expansion. Communication is fixed at EtherCAT, EtherNet/IP, and TCP/IP — no serial fallback. The controller addresses up to 128 axes, so plan the motion group size accordingly. Cycle time of 0.125 ms supports high-speed sequencing; memory partition for programs, data, and variables is set at 80 MB, 256 MB, and 260 MB respectively. Battery backup maintains the real-time clock and variable retention during power loss.
