Drive selection memo
The Omron R88D1SN15FECT is a 1S series servo drive rated at 1.5 kW and 4.3 A, sized for a 400 V-class motor on a three-phase supply. The 4.3 A rating is the continuous output current the drive can deliver to the motor — match this to the motor's nameplate FLA to avoid nuisance overcurrent trips during acceleration. The drive is designed to pair with the R88M-1L1K530C or R88M-1M1K520C motors; if your BOM calls for a different motor, verify the winding current and encoder feedback compatibility before specifying.
Panel fit and environment
The drive measures 90 mm wide by 180 mm high by 225 mm deep — a standard footprint for this power class. IP20 means it is protected against solid objects larger than 12 mm (fingers, tools) but not against moisture; install it inside a sealed enclosure if the cabinet sees washdown or condensation. The operating range is 0 °C to 55 °C, so derate or force-ventilate if the panel ambient runs near the upper limit during summer peaks.
Supply voltage tolerance
AC input range is 323 V to 504 V, covering 400 V nominal systems with the usual ±10 % tolerance and some headroom for 480 V grids. The DC bus input accepts 22 V to 26 V — this is the control-power supply for the drive logic and holding brake, not the main motor power. If you are running a 480 V line, the drive is within its upper limit, but verify the motor's insulation rating for the higher DC bus voltage.
