What this supply delivers
The Omron S8VK-G01512 is a 15 W DIN-rail switching power supply that takes a single-phase 100 to 240 VAC input and delivers a regulated 12 VDC output at 1.2 A. The 12 V rail is common for powering PLC I/O slices, small relays, indicator lamps, and field sensors in a control cabinet — the 1.2 A continuous rating means it can run roughly a dozen 24 VDC relays (with a 12 V coil) or a handful of 4-20 mA loop-powered transmitters without straining the output. It is a switching design, so it runs cooler and more efficiently than a linear supply at this power level, and the 47–450 Hz input frequency range covers both standard 50/60 Hz mains and higher-frequency generator or UPS outputs.
Screw terminals accept 24 to 12 AWG wire, which covers the common field-wiring sizes for control circuits. A green LED on the front confirms output is present, and the supply includes automatic reset after an overload or overvoltage event — no manual reset switch to reach inside the panel. Safety approvals cover UL 508 and UL 62368-1 (industrial and ITE equipment), CSA C22.2 No. 107.1, EN 50178 (electronic equipment for power installations), EN 61558-2-16 (safety of transformers for power supplies), and EN 62368-1. It also carries Lloyd's certification to EN 60204-1 PELV, so it is accepted for marine and offshore control panels.
