Function & operation
The SRT2-ID16P functions as a distributed I/O block in an Omron SRT2 remote I/O system. Its 16 digital points are split into 8 inputs and 8 outputs per master, handling discrete sensor and actuator signals at 24 V DC. The screw terminals accept field wiring directly, and the chassis-mount form factor suits panel or machine-frame installation where DIN-rail space is unavailable.
Applications
SRT2 remote I/O blocks like the SRT2-ID16P are used in industrial automation for collecting discrete sensor inputs and driving small actuators, pilot lights, or contactor coils from a central PLC via a remote master. Typical settings include packaging lines, material handling conveyors, and assembly stations where I/O points are distributed across the machine rather than concentrated in a single cabinet.
