15 A pilot-duty snap switch with a 2.5 in hinge lever
The Z-15GW4 is an Omron Z-series snap action limit switch built around a 1NO/1NC contact block — form Z — wired through solder lugs rather than quick-connect tabs, which means panel-side replacement needs an iron, not a crimp tool. The actuator is a fixed hinge lever, 2.5 in long, with no roller adjustment — a straightforward overtravel mechanism for door-interlock and cam-operated guard duty rather than precision positioning.
Contact rating and the 250 VAC / 14 VDC envelope
Contact rating is 15 A at 250 VAC and 15 A at 14 VDC — heavy pilot-duty class, the right bracket for directly switching solenoids, contactors, and small motor loads without an interposing relay, but not a control-circuit logic switch. Snap-action differential travel is 0.05 in maximum against 0.22 in of pre-travel and 0.22 in of over-travel, with 0.27 N operating force — repeat positioning is precise enough for end-of-travel detection on packaging and conveyor equipment where repeatability matters more than sub-millimetre accuracy.
Approvals, body, and operating envelope
CSA certification and UL Listing are on the record — both are the gatekeepers for North American panel builders integrating the switch into UL 508A panels and CSA-certified machinery. The body is moulded phenolic, giving high dielectric strength and resistance to oils and solvents common on machine tools and food-processing lines; the operating envelope runs from -13 °F to 176 °F, which covers unheated indoor panels and most outdoor enclosures short of arctic or oven-duty service.
Panel fit: 1 in on-center mounting, 3/16 in holes
Mounting is through two 3/16 in clearance holes spaced 1 in center-to-center, with an overall body of 2.94 in wide by 0.69 in deep — a footprint that drops into the standard Z-series punch pattern on retrofit brackets without re-drilling.
