Integrator's note on the AFP0RC10RS
The Panasonic AFP0RC10RS is a compact FP0R-series PLC with 6 digital inputs and 4 relay outputs, running on a 24 VDC supply. Its 12K-word memory and 3-module expansion limit suit it for standalone machine control or as a remote I/O slice in a larger system — not a multi-axis motion controller, but a solid fit for valve banks, conveyor sections, or pick-and-place cells where relay outputs handle the inductive loads directly. The relay outputs on this unit are rated for general-purpose switching; they handle AC and DC loads up to the contact rating, but the mechanical life is finite — expect around 1–2 million operations at rated load, so for high-cycle applications (over 10 cycles per minute) consider the AFP0RC16MP with its transistor outputs instead.
It mounts on a standard DIN rail and shares the same footprint and backplane as the AFP0RC14RS (8 inputs, 6 relay outputs) — so if your BOM called for the 14RS but you have the 10RS in hand, it will physically fit and communicate on the same expansion bus, but you lose two inputs and two outputs. Verify your I/O count before substituting.
