PLC with dedicated I/O and RS-232C
The Panasonic AFP0RF32CP is an active FP0R series CPU module delivering 16 digital inputs and 16 mixed outputs — 4 pulse, 4 PWM, and 8 solid-state — on a 24VDC supply. Memory holds 32K words, expandable via up to 3 additional modules. Communication uses RS-232C, not RS-485, which sets the wiring and protocol expectations for panel integration.
RS-232C vs RS-485: why the delta matters
The closest functional sibling is the AFP0RF32MP — same 16-in/16-out I/O configuration, same memory and expandability — but it uses RS-485 instead of RS-232C. A panel wired for the MP variant will not accept the CP without rewiring the serial port. Verify the host controller's COM port standard before specifying; RS-232C and RS-485 are not electrically interchangeable.
DIN-rail mounting and expansion
Mounts on standard DIN rail. The base CPU accepts three expansion modules (FP0R series) via the internal bus. No display is fitted, so all programming and monitoring passes through the RS-232C port using FPWINPRO7 software. For commissioning, expect to set the serial parameters in the tool before download.
