CPU overview – AFPXHC60RD
This FP-XH CPU runs on 24VDC, packing 32 digital inputs and 28 relay outputs into a sealed box for DIN rail mounting. The 0–55°C rating suits unventilated control panels as long as forced air keeps the cabinet below the upper limit.
Relay vs transistor outputs – why AFPXHC60TD is not a drop-in
The closest sibling is AFPXHC60TD – same 24VDC supply, same 32 inputs, but 28 solid-state outputs instead of relays. If your original spec called for relay outputs to switch AC loads or higher inrush currents, swapping to the transistor variant without rewiring the load side will fail. Relay outputs handle resistive and moderate inductive loads; transistor outputs need a free-wheel diode and cannot tolerate AC on the same circuit.
Lifecycle & compliance
Panasonic lists AFPXHC60RD as Active. No NRND flag, no scheduled EOL. This CPU is fully supportable for new designs and existing installs. We document every rework on legacy boards that come through our bench; for this one, it’s factory-original and goes out with a full specification check against the datasheet.
DIN rail mounting & cabinet fit
Mounts on DIN rail. The box package requires clearance for the ribbon cable comb on the input side. Operating temperature range is 0°C to 55°C.
