The Panasonic FP2-PSA2 is the backplane power supply for FP2 and FP2SH rack-based PLC systems. It takes a 200~240VAC line feed and delivers 5V at 2.5A to the rack's backplane — that's the logic rail that powers the CPU, I/O modules, and any special-function cards seated in the same chassis. The 2.5A at 5V is the total budget for the entire rack. If you're loading up with high-count digital cards or analog modules that pull from the backplane, that's the hard ceiling — exceed it and the supply drops out or browns out the logic. For typical FP2 builds with a CPU and a dozen I/O slots, it's usually fine; for dense analog or high-speed counter configurations, add up the module current draws before locking in the BOM. Screw-terminal termination means you land line, neutral, and ground directly on the supply's block — no special connector or pre-crimped cable needed.
Approvals are CE, CSA, cULus, and UL. That covers North American (UL/CSA) and European (CE) installations without extra paperwork.
