What this module does
The 140DAI75300C is a 32-channel 230 VAC discrete input module for the Modicon Quantum automation platform. It reads 230 VAC field signals and presents them as two input words to the backplane. Each input group of four channels is optically isolated to 1780 Vrms from the bus and from other groups, so you can mix voltage references across groups without worry. Input current draws 11.5 mA at 57–63 Hz or 9.7 mA at 47–53 Hz. The guaranteed ON state starts at 165 VAC for 57–63 Hz, 175 VAC for 47–53 Hz; OFF state is below 40 VAC. Response time depends on line frequency: Off-ON is 4.9 to 0.75 ms per line cycle, ON-OFF is 7.3 to 12.3 ms. Keep these in mind if you're scanning faster than one line cycle — the module won't respond faster than the input filter allows. Absolute maximum input is 264 V continuous, 312 V for 10 s, 400 V for one cycle. Conformal coated with Humiseal 1A33 and rated for 95% humidity without condensation, up to 5000 m altitude. Bus current requirement is 250 mA; power dissipation 5 W. Keep the ambient between 0 and 60 °C operating; storage handles -40 to 85 °C.
