Overview

The module presents 32 discrete inputs organised as four 8-channel groups, each group isolated from the others at 500 Vrms for 1 minute, and from the backplane bus at 1780 Vrms for 1 minute. Inputs are positive-sink logic at 24 V DC nominal; the absolute maximum input rating is 45 V during a 10 ms decaying pulse, which covers transient events on the field wiring. Broken wire detection is built in — the module checks each input circuit for continuity and flags an open wire via the red external fault LED (F). Local signalling includes one green LED for bus communication active, one red LED for external fault, and 32 green LEDs for individual input status — useful for on-panel troubleshooting without a programming terminal.
