It combines a 40 A thermal-magnetic MCB (C curve, magnetic trip 5–10 × In) with integrated 30 mA earth-leakage protection in a single 18 mm wide module that clips onto a DIN rail. The 6000 A Icn breaking capacity at 230/240 V AC, 50 Hz is rated per AS/NZS 61009.1, so it clears line-to-neutral faults up to that level without the module rupturing — important for selectivity studies in a final-subcircuit panel.
The 40 A In and C curve mean this RCBO is sized for general-purpose lighting and socket-outlet circuits where inrush from LED drivers or small transformers is moderate — the C curve holds through 5–10 × In momentary surges (250 A surge current rated) before the magnetic trip acts. The 30 mA earth-leakage threshold provides personal protection against direct contact; it is the standard sensitivity for final circuits in TN earthing systems (the unit is marked TN). The 1P+N configuration switches the phase and monitors the neutral, but only the phase pole is protected against overcurrent — the neutral is switched but not monitored for overload. The IP20 finger-safe terminals accept up to 25 mm² rigid upstream and 16 mm² rigid downstream, tunnel-type, with a 3.5 N·m upstream / 2 N·m downstream tightening torque.
Deployment context
Clip-on mounting on a DIN rail (18 mm per module, 2 × 9 mm pitches) fits standard enclosure chassis. The white body with toggle control and ON/OFF local signalling is padlockable (Ø 4 mm padlock) for lockout/tagout during maintenance.
