Sizing and selection
The BMI0703T27A is a single-phase servo motor in the Rexroth BMI frame. It delivers 700 W nominal at 230 V single phase and 400 W at 115 V, with corresponding nominal torques of 2.9 N·m and 2.2 N·m. Continuous stall torque is 3.4 N·m across the voltage range.
Feedback and cabling
Feedback is provided by a Hiperface absolute multiturn SinCos encoder. This single-cable digital protocol carries both power and feedback on a standard connector — no separate encoder cable needed. The motor ships with a printed circuit board connector for electrical termination. The shaft is 14 mm diameter, 30 mm long, untapped, and without a second shaft end. The flange is an international standard 70 mm square with a 60 mm pilot diameter and 5.5 mm mounting holes.
Duty and thermal management
Integrated EMC filter reduces conducted emissions to the supply side, simplifying panel compliance. No external line filter is required for standard installations. Cooling is natural convection — no fan or forced air needed, but the motor must be mounted with adequate free air circulation around the fins. Stator resistance is 2.58 Ω and inductance 2.28 mH at 20 °C. The torque constant is 0.81 N·m/A and back EMF constant 54.44 V/krpm. Continuous stall current is 3.5 A; peak current is 10.5 A for 3 seconds at 230 V.
Mechanical limits
Maximum radial force is speed-dependent: 730 N at 1000 rpm declining to 400 N at 6000 rpm. Axial force limit is 20% of the radial force at the same speed.
