Integrator note — channel lineup and grounding
The BMXART0414H: Four isolated analog inputs, each configurable for thermocouple (B, E, J, K, L, N, R, S, T, U), RTD (Pt100, Pt1000, Ni100, Ni1000, Cu10), voltage (±40 mV to ±1.28 V), or 2/3/4-wire resistance (400 Ω or 4000 Ω). Cold-junction compensation uses an external Pt100 probe. Sigma-delta conversion at 16 bits, resolution 15 bits + sign. Channel isolation keeps ground loops off the backplane; use shielded twisted-pair for thermocouple runs and connect the shield at the module end only. Power draw: 150 mA at 3.3 V DC and 40 mA at 24 V DC from the rack. The 40‑way connector is keyed; verify the mating cable part number matches the X80 backplane pinout before termination.
Compliance and environmental rating
Designed to IEC 61131-2 (PLC hardware), IEC 61000-6-4 (emission), IEC 61000-6-2 (immunity), and EN 61010-2-201 (control equipment safety). Complies with Low Voltage Directive 2014/35/EU and EMC Directive 2014/30/EU. The module carries conformal coating and is rated for severe environments: gas (Gx, 3C4), dust (3S4), sand (3S4), salt (level 2), mold and fungal spore (3B2), plus Class I Division 2 hazardous location. Operating temperature –25 to 70 °C, storage –40 to 85 °C, humidity 5–95 % at 55 °C non‑condensing. Shock resistance 30 gn, vibration 3 gn — suited for rotating machinery and mobile equipment installations within those limits.
Measurement performance
Common‑mode rejection 120 dB at 50/60 Hz; differential‑mode rejection 60 dB. Measurement error at 25 °C: ±0.7 °C on Ni1000, ±2.1 °C on Pt100, ±2.7 to ±3.7 °C on thermocouples (varies by type), and ±0.05 % FS on voltage ranges. Resolution is 0.1 °C across all temperature probes. Temperature drift held to 25 or 30 ppm/°C depending on range. Nominal read cycle 200 ms for thermocouples, 400 ms for RTDs.
