The BMXNOE0100H is a Modicon M340 Ethernet TCP/IP network module with a single RJ45 port operating at 10 or 100 Mbit/s. It draws 90 mA at 24 V DC from the rack backplane — no additional supply wiring. The module sits in a standard format slot and power it up to check the four green and two red LEDs: ETH ACT, RUN, ETH STS, and ETH 100 indicate network activity, processor running, network status, and data rate; CARD ERR and ERR flag memory card or system faults. What are the defaults out of the box? The module ships with a supplied Flash memory card (BMXRWSC016M) for application storage. It supports Modbus TCP messaging, I/O scanning, Global Data, SNMP, FDR server, and the Rack Viewer — so it handles the usual transparent ready class B30 requirements without extra configuration.
Compliance and environmental fit for severe locations
This module carries a long list of standards — IEC 61131-2, UL 61010-2-201, CSA C22.2 No 61010-2-201, ATEX (2014/34/EU), and importantly IEC 61850-3 for substation environments and IEC 61000-6-5 for power plant EMC. The conformal coating and environmental ratings (gas class Gx/3C4, dust 3S4, salt level 2) mean it is built for severe locations. For commissioning, the IP20 rating means it is for enclosure use only; no open-panel mounting.
