The Schneider BMXNRP0200 is a fiber optic repeater for the Modicon X80 rack. It bridges two 100BASE-FX multimode fiber segments with an integrated media converter — two RJ45 copper ports and two fiber ports are available on the front panel. Hot-swap support means you can swap it without powering down the backplane. Draws 140 mA typical at 24 V. Multimode 1310 nm optics provide up to 2000 m reach on 50/125 or 62.5/125 fiber. Attenuation is -23.5 to -14 dB for 50/125 µm; receiver sensitivity is -31 dBm. Rise and fall times are 3 ns — keeps signal jitter under control over long runs. IP20 housing, so it stays in a clean panel or cabinet, not out in the plant.
Carries CE marking, meets IEC 61010-2-201, IEC 61131-2, UL 61010-2-201, and CSA C22.2 No 61010-2-201. Low-voltage and EMC directives (2014/35/EU, 2014/30/EU) are satisfied. These cover safety and emissions for industrial control equipment — no additional project-level qualification paperwork needed for a standard panel.
Field note — signal integrity
The 3 ns rise time and receiver sensitivity floor of -31 dBm combine to give a clean eye diagram well past 2 km on good splice runs. Multimode 1310 nm is the sweet spot for short-haul plant floor links — single-mode would be overkill. If you see bit errors on a long fiber run, check the attenuation first; the repeater adds negligible jitter. LEDs on the faceplate give link status and activity per port. The red error LED catches power supply faults — handy for diagnosing a dead module during a swap.
