Frame and breaking capacity
The C080L4FM is a ComPacT NS800L basic frame from the new-generation NS630b…1600 range, rated 800 A at 50 °C and carrying a 150 kA Icu at 380/415 V AC — the L breaking-capacity code. The frame is 4-pole, fixed-mounted to a backplate, manually operated, and ships without a protection control unit — it is the mechanical base that accepts a separate trip unit (ordered by the buyer to match the protection curve needed).
The Ics (service breaking capacity) matches the Icu at every voltage level, meaning the breaker can be reclosed after clearing a fault at its full rating without derating — a practical advantage for industrial plants that cannot tolerate a prolonged outage after a fault event. The 4-pole configuration with neutral on the left is fixed — the neutral pole is not switched by the trip unit unless a 4-pole control unit is installed.
Fixed backplate mounting with a 70 mm connection pitch. The 20 W power loss at rated current should be factored into the panel thermal budget.
Designed and tested to IEC 60947-2, with an 8 kV rated impulse withstand voltage (Uimp) and a 19.2 kA / 1 s short-time withstand current (Icw). Overvoltage category III, utilisation category A. Electrical durability ranges from 2000 to 4000 cycles depending on voltage and current level; mechanical durability is 10 000 cycles. Storage temperature range -50 to 85 °C, operating -25 to 70 °C.
