It carries a 40 kA Icu breaking capacity at 240 V AC, 50/60 Hz, per IEC 60947-2, and 85 kA Icu at 250 V DC. This is the fixed-mount, toggle-operated version for distribution applications.
The 80 A TM-D trip unit gives you thermal overload (L) and magnetic short-circuit (I) protection in one package. The thermal element handles sustained overloads; the magnetic element trips instantly on high faults. Rated for category A utilization (no intentional short-time delay), so it's a straight distribution breaker — not for selective coordination downstream of a main. The IP40 front face keeps out tools and dust, but it's not sealed against washdown; mount it inside an enclosure if the panel sees hose spray or condensation.
This breaker mounts flat on a backplate, accepts front-connect wiring top and bottom, and fits a 35 mm connection pitch. The single-pole width is 35 mm, depth 86 mm, height 161 mm — it'll nest into a standard distribution board or a custom panel alongside other NSX units. Mount it horizontal or vertical; no derating for orientation. The toggle handle gives clear visual indication of trip status, which helps when you're walking a route and need to spot a tripped breaker at a glance.
