What this MCCB is and what it does
The C11H4TM080B is a Schneider Electric ComPacT NSXm moulded-case circuit breaker — 80 A, 4-pole, with a thermal-magnetic TM-D trip unit. That 80 A rating at 40 °C is the continuous current it carries without tripping; the TM-D trip handles overloads (thermal) and short-circuits (magnetic) in one package. The 70 kA breaking capacity at 415 V AC (performance level H) tells you it can safely interrupt a fault current up to that level without welding contacts or venting gas into the panel — that's the SCCR headroom a site electrical engineer needs for coordination studies. It's built to EN/IEC 60947-2, the standard for low-voltage switchgear and controlgear — specifically Category A, meaning it's not intended for selective coordination with downstream breakers under short-circuit conditions. The 4-pole configuration (4P) switches all three phases plus neutral, with the neutral on the left. Suitability for isolation is confirmed per IEC 60947-2, so it can serve as a visible-break disconnect when locked off.
Mounting and integration
Mounts on a backplate — horizontal or vertical, flat on the back. The 108 mm width and 137 mm height take up 12 module pitches of 9 mm each on a DIN-rail-compatible backplate. Connection pitch is 35 mm with spreaders, 27 mm without. Terminals accept compression lugs or busbars; both upside and downside connections are front-facing, which keeps wiring accessible in a panel. IP40 enclosure protection means it's sealed against tools and small objects, but not water — fine for a dry indoor panel, not for washdown areas.
