The CR1F185FZ7 is a 3-pole magnetic latching contactor from the Schneider Electric TeSys F range, designed for control applications switching resistive and motor loads. The 110 V DC low-consumption coil draws 500 W to latch and 20 W to unlatch, with operating times of 35...40 ms latching and 50...100 ms unlatching. Rated operational voltage is 1000 V AC at 25...200 Hz, with a rated insulation voltage of 1000 V per IEC 60947-4 and BS 775. The utilisation categories cover AC-1 (resistive), AC-3 (motor starting/running), and AC-4 (plugging/inching) — so it handles the full range of contactor duty cycles. The AC-1 rating (275 A Ith) is higher because resistive loads don't produce the same inrush. The magnetic latching mechanism holds the contacts closed without continuous coil power — the 500 W pulse latches it, then the coil drops to zero hold current. That makes it suitable for applications where a sustained coil draw is undesirable (battery-backed systems, low-energy designs). The unlatching pulse is only 20 W, so the total energy per cycle is modest. Rated short-time withstand current (Icw) is 1500 A for up to 10 seconds, dropping to 400 A at 10 minutes — this defines how long the contactor can carry a fault current before the upstream protection must open. The associated fuse recommendation is 200 A aM or 315 A gG at ≤ 440 V, which coordinates with the contactor's breaking capacity.
The contactor measures 7.1 in deep, 6.6 in wide, and 6.9 in tall — sized for panel mounting with lug-ring terminals accepting up to 150 mm² cable or two 25 x 3 mm bars. Tightening torque is 159.3 lbf·in (18 N·m) on the power connections. The TH protective treatment means it's tropicalized for humid environments.
