The Schneider Electric CR1F4004U7 is a TeSys F magnetic latching contactor, a 4-pole device (4 NO) rated for 400 A at <= 440 V AC in AC-3 duty, per IEC 60947-4. The 240 V AC 50/60 Hz control circuit draws 1600 VA during latching and 16 VA during unlatching; the coil holds between 0.85 and 1.1 Uc.
The 400 A AC-3 rating governs motor switching up to that current — the contactor is sized for a 200 kW motor at 380...400 V AC or 250 hp at 460...480 V AC (UL/CSA). AC-1 resistive load rating is higher; AC-4 (inching/plugging) duty is also listed, but the AC-3 figure is the one that decides the BOM line for standard motor starts. Power dissipation per pole is 45 W in AC-3 and 70 W in AC-1 — relevant for thermal management inside a panel. The associated fuse rating is 400 A aM or 500 A gG at <= 440 V for the power circuit.
Mounts on a notched AM1-EC rail. Panel cutout dimensions: 8.6 in (219 mm) depth, 10.3 in (261 mm) width, 8.1 in (206 mm) height. Terminals accept lugs or ring terminals up to 150 mm², or bars 30 x 5 mm; tightening torque is 309.8 lbf.in (35 N.m). IP20 front face per IEC 60529 — suitable for enclosed panel use, not washdown.
Compliant with BS 5424, VDE 0660, NF C 63-110, JEM 1038, and IEC 60947-4. Rated insulation voltage is 1000 V per IEC 60947-4 and BS 775. Operating temperature range is 5...158 °F (-15...70 °C); storage range is -76...176 °F (-60...80 °C). Altitude rating is 9842.52 ft (3000 m) without derating. Protective treatment is TH (tropicalized).
