The Schneider Electric CR1F630G7 is a TeSys F magnetic latching contactor — a 3-pole device rated for 630 A operational current (AC-3 duty) at up to 1000 V AC. It is designed for motor control and resistive load switching, covering utilisation categories AC-1, AC-3, and AC-4. The latching mechanism holds the main contacts closed without continuous coil power, drawing 2300 VA only during the latching pulse and 11 VA in the unlatching state.
For resistive loads (AC-1), the thermal current Ith is 1000 A at 50 Hz, with an average impedance of 0.12 mOhm per pole. Motor power capability spans 450 kW at 1000 V AC down to 200 kW at 220–230 V AC (50/60 Hz). Under UL/CSA, it is rated for 800 hp at 575–600 V AC for 3-phase motors. The rated breaking capacity reaches 6300 A at 220–440 V for the power circuit, and the making capacity is 6740 A — figures that confirm it can interrupt fault currents without welding contacts. The control circuit is 127 V AC (50–400 Hz) or 127 V DC, with latching and unlatching voltage limits of 0.85–1.1 Uc. Operating time is 40–80 ms for latching and 50–100 ms for unlatching.
This contactor mounts on a notched AM1-EC rail — a dedicated DIN-rail profile for the TeSys F range. Dimensions are 12.2 in (309 mm) wide, 12.0 in (304 mm) high, and 10.04 in (255 mm) deep. Power connections use two bars sized 60 x 5 mm, tightened to 513.3 lbf·in (58 N·m).
The CR1F630G7 complies with BS 5424, VDE 0660, IEC 60947-4, NF C 63-110, and JEM 1038. Rated insulation voltage (Ui) is 1000 V per IEC 60158-1, IEC 60947-4, and BS 775, with a VDE 0110 group C rating of 1500 V. The protective treatment is TH (tropicalised). Operating altitude is 3000 m without derating, and ambient temperature range for operation is -15 to 70 °C.
