The CR1F630MB7 is a TeSys F magnetic latching contactor from Schneider Electric, a 3-pole device with a rated operational current of 630 A and a conventional free air thermal current of 1000 A at 40 °C. It is designed for motor control and resistive load applications, covering utilisation categories AC-1, AC-3, and AC-4. Motor power ratings span from 200 kW at 220...230 V AC up to 450 kW at 1000 V AC (50/60 Hz). For UL/CSA applications, it is rated for 800 hp at 575...600 V AC and 600 hp at 460...480 V AC for three-phase motors.
Control Circuit and Latching Characteristics
This magnetic latching contactor uses a dual-voltage coil: 220 V AC (50/60 Hz or 400 Hz) for latching and 24 V AC/DC for unlatching. Latching time is 40...80 ms; unlatching takes 50...100 ms. Coil consumption peaks at 2100 VA AC (50/60 Hz) during latching and 8 VA AC during unlatching. For DC operation, latching draw is 2300 W, unlatching is 11 W.
Electrical Performance and Protection
Rated insulation voltage is 1000 V per IEC 60947-4 and BS 775, with an impulse withstand voltage of 8 kV. The rated breaking capacity reaches 6300 A at 220...440 V, 5400 A at 500 V, and 3200 A at 1000 V. Short-time withstand current is 5050 A for 1 second at 40 °C. Associated fuse rating is 630 A aM at 1000 A, with BS88 and gG fuses at ≤ 440 V. Average impedance is 0.12 mOhm at Ith 1000 A, 50 Hz. Power dissipation per pole is 48 W in AC-3 duty and 120 W in AC-1 duty.
