Integrator's note on the EZC630N4630N
The Schneider Electric EZC630N4630N is a 4-pole molded case circuit breaker from the EasyPact EZC630N series, rated 630 A at 40 °C with a TM-D thermal-magnetic trip unit. Breaking capacity is 36 kA Icu at 440 V AC 50/60 Hz per IEC 60947-2, with a 40 kA Icu at 220/230 V AC. The magnetic trip threshold is fixed at 5000 A. This is a Category A breaker (no intentional short-time delay), suited for distribution applications where fast clearing is the priority.
The 630 A frame at 50 °C and 40 °C means the breaker carries its full rating in a 40 °C enclosure ambient; above that, consult the thermal derating curve in the datasheet. The TM-D trip unit provides fixed thermal (overload) and fixed magnetic (short-circuit) protection — no adjustable trip settings, so selectivity must be achieved through frame sizing and the magnetic pickup of 5000 A.
