The GS1QQBR4 is a fuse switch disconnector body from the Schneider Electric TeSys GS range, designed for 4-pole (4P) isolation and protection of AC and DC circuits using BS-type fuses. Rated at 400 A conventional free-air thermal current (Ith) at 40 °C, it handles motor and resistive loads across multiple duty classes: 400 A at 400 V AC-23B, 315 A at 500 V AC-23B, and 250 A at 690 V AC-23B, with corresponding power ratings up to 400 kW at 500 V AC-23A. Breaking capacity is 3200 A at 400 V AC-23B, with a making capacity of 4000 A at the same voltage — sufficient for isolating motor circuits under load, but the 80 kA short-circuit withstand rating means it relies on upstream BS fuses for fault clearance.
Mounts on a plate or rail — the 337 mm width and 205 mm height mean it needs a generous panel cutout, and the 149 mm depth accounts for the fuse carrier and terminal bars. Power circuit connections accept bars or screw terminals for 185 to 240 mm² flexible cable; control circuit and power terminals both torque to 25 N·m.
The 400 A AC-23B rating is the motor-switching current at 400 V — that's the figure that governs real motor isolation duty, not the higher 400 A Ith which is a free-air thermal rating for continuous resistive load. Rated impulse withstand voltage of 8 kV and insulation voltage of 800 V AC. Electrical durability is 1000 cycles for AC-23A/B and 200 cycles for DC-23A/B — this is a switch-disconnector, not a contactor for frequent cycling; mechanical durability is 10,000 cycles. Fire resistance tested to 960 °C on the body and 850 °C on the fuse cover per IEC 60695-2-1, with TH protective treatment for tropical environments.
Designed and tested to IEC 60269-1, IEC 60269-2 (fuse standards), and IEC 60947-3 (switch-disconnector standard).
