The GS1QQ3 is a 3-pole fuse switch disconnector body from the TeSys GS series, designed for DIN-rail or plate mounting. It serves as the switching and isolation element in a fuse-protected motor or power circuit, rated for both AC and DC networks at 50/60 Hz. Its headline rating is 400 A at 400 V under AC-23B duty, which is the category for switching motor loads and other highly inductive loads — meaning it handles the inrush and breaking of motor circuits, not just resistive heaters. The conventional free air thermal current (Ith) is also 400 A at 40 °C, so the rating holds in a typical enclosed panel without derating for ambient heat. Breaking capacity is 3200 A at 400 V AC-23B, and making capacity is 4000 A at the same voltage — this is the fault current it can safely close into or interrupt. For higher prospective fault levels, the rated short-circuit making capacity (Icm) is 100 kA at 400 V, but only when backed by gG (gI) fuses rated at 50 kA; the disconnector itself coordinates with those upstream fuses to achieve that SCCR.
If a form-fit-function replacement is needed, the buyer should compare the ratings below against current TeSys GS or TeSys GV series offerings, paying close attention to the AC-23B current, breaking capacity, and DIN footprint.
The power circuit connections accept bars or screw terminals sized for 185 to 240 mm² flexible cable — this is heavy cable, appropriate for the 400 A rating. Tightening torque is 25 N·m on both bar and screw-terminal connections. The operating handle can be mounted on the external right side or external frontal position, giving flexibility for panel layout.
Designed and tested to IEC 60947-3 (switch-disconnectors), IEC 60269-2 (fuses), and IEC 60269-1 (general fuse requirements). The fuse cover withstands 850 °C glow-wire test per IEC 60695-2-1, and the body withstands 960 °C — this is a fire-resistance rating for the enclosure material, relevant for panel safety certification. Electrical durability is 1000 cycles under AC-23A or AC-23B, and 200 cycles under DC-23A or DC-23B; mechanical durability is 10,000 cycles.
