The GV2DM205BD is a reversing direct-on-line (DOL) combination motor starter from the TeSys Deca range. It integrates a 3-pole reversing contactor, a GV2ME motor circuit breaker, and a GV2AF3 combination block into one unit, so the reversing function and short-circuit/overload protection arrive pre-wired in a single package. The thermal protection adjustment range is 0.63 to 1 A, and the magnetic trip is fixed at 13 A. Rated for AC-3 utilisation category, it handles motor switching duty — the 50 kA breaking capacity at 400/415 V (IEC 60947-4-1) means it can interrupt a fault up to that level without the upstream protective device needing to clear it first. That is Type 1 coordination: after a fault the starter may need component replacement, but the panel stays live and the bus is protected.
Sourcing reality — obsolete, sourced to order
If you need a direct replacement with the same footprint and function, the closest parametric match within the TeSys Deca family would share the reversing DOL topology and 24 V DC coil, but the thermal range and breaking capacity need to be verified against your motor nameplate. That is a conversation for the RFQ stage — we can cross-check the BOM line against what is currently available.
The thermal protection range of 0.63 to 1 A sets the motor FLC window this starter protects. For a 0.25 kW motor at 400/415 V (roughly 0.7 A FLC), this is a natural fit; at 0.37 kW the FLC climbs to about 0.9 A, still inside the range. The 24 V DC coil is common in PLC-controlled panels where a 24 VDC control bus powers the contactor coils directly — no separate AC control transformer needed. Physically, the unit measures 176.4 mm high, 90 mm wide, and 99.6 mm deep. That 90 mm width is three standard 30 mm DIN-rail module spaces — plan the enclosure layout accordingly. The reversing contactor pair and breaker sit in a single housing, so the panel fill factor is better than wiring three separate components.
