Motor circuit breaker for 2.5 A line
The Square D GV2ME073 is a TeSys Deca manual motor starter (motor circuit breaker) rated 2.5 A continuous, with a thermal-magnetic trip unit for overload and short-circuit protection. It covers a 0.75 kW motor at 400/415 V AC, which matches typical European 3-phase induction motors in small pumps or conveyors. The magnetic trip is fixed at 39 A, so the device coordinates with a motor full-load current of 2.5 A while clearing high faults independently. Breaking capacity is 100 kA Icu at 230/240, 400/415, 440, and 500 V AC, and 3 kA at 690 V AC. Phase failure sensitivity and suitability for isolation per IEC 60947-1 make it a self-contained motor disconnect: one device handles overload, short-circuit, and isolation. The IP20 protected case keeps live parts out of reach on an open panel.
Compliance covers EN/IEC 60947-2, 60947-4-1, UL 60947-4-1, and CSA C22.2 No. 60947-4-1. The fire-resistance test at 960 °C and IK04 / IP20 ratings satisfy most machine-building and panel-shop requirements. For refrigeration or heat-pump duty, it also meets the annex requirements of IEC/EN 60335-2-40 and clause 30.2 of IEC/EN 60335-1.
Horizontal or vertical orientation allowed. The spring terminals accept 1…6 mm² solid or 1.5…4 mm² flexible with cable end — no torque screwdriver needed for the power circuit, which speeds up wiring on repetitive builds. Dimensions: 1.8 in (45 mm) wide, 4.0 in (101 mm) tall, 3.09 in (78.5 mm) deep. The narrow width helps pack several breakers on a short DIN-rail segment. Electrical durability is rated 100,000 cycles under AC-3 at 415 V — maintenance staff can expect a long service life in a typical production line.
