It uses a thermal-magnetic trip unit to provide overload and short-circuit protection for motors drawing up to 10 A. Rated for uninterrupted duty per IEC 60947-4-1, it handles motor power from 3 to 4 kW at 400/415 V AC, 4 to 5.5 kW at 500 V AC, and 5.5 to 7.5 kW at 690 V AC — all at 50 Hz.
For motor protection, you size the breaker to match the motor's full-load current — the thermal element tracks the motor heating curve. Breaking capacity hits 100 kA Icu at 230/240 V and 400/415 V AC, meaning it can safely interrupt a fault current up to 100,000 A at those voltages without welding contacts or rupturing the case. At 440 V it drops to 15 kA, at 500 V to 10 kA, and at 690 V to 3 kA — so verify the available fault current at your service voltage. Magnetic tripping current is fixed at 149 A — that's the instantaneous pickup for short-circuit protection. Below that, the thermal element handles overloads with an inverse-time curve. Phase failure sensitivity is built in per IEC 60947-4-1, so the breaker will trip if one phase drops out — critical for preventing single-phasing damage on three-phase motors.
Mounts horizontally or vertically. Power connections accept up to two 1–6 mm² solid or 1.5–6 mm² flexible cables per screw clamp terminal. Tighten to 1.7 N·m.
