The GV2ME16K2M7 is a reversing DOL combination motor starter from the Schneider TeSys GV2-ME family. It integrates a motor circuit breaker (type GV2ME), a 3-pole reversing contactor, and a combination block (GV2AF01) into one unit, so you wire a single device rather than assembling separate components for forward/reverse control of a three-phase motor. Thermal protection adjusts from 9 to 14 A, covering motors in the 5.5 kW range at 400/415 V AC (AC-3 duty). At 500 V it handles up to 7.5 kW. The magnetic trip is fixed at 170 A, clearing short-circuit faults fast without relying on upstream fuses for every fault.
That means the starter can safely interrupt a bolted fault up to 15 kA at the motor terminals — enough for most industrial panels fed from a typical 400 V distribution transformer. At 440 V the rating drops to 8 kA; at 500 V to 6 kA. Coordination is Type 1, so after a fault the starter may need contact replacement, but the upstream protection stays intact.
