What it is and what it does
The Schneider GV2ME21A is a TeSys Deca motor circuit breaker rated for 23 A continuous current, with a thermal-magnetic trip unit that protects against overload and short circuit. It switches motor loads up to 9 kW at 400 V AC or 11 kW at 500 V, and carries a 3-pole, 690 V insulation voltage rating.
Breaking capacity and trip characteristics
The GV2ME21A delivers 50 kA Icu at 230/240 V AC, dropping to 15 kA at 400/415 V and 3 kA at 690 V. For motor branch circuits, this covers most industrial fault currents up to the panel transformer. The magnetic trip is fixed at 341 A, ensuring instant clearing on high-current faults without nuisance tripping from motor inrush.
Panel fit and mounting
Width 45 mm, height 101 mm, depth 78.5 mm. Mounts on 35 mm symmetrical DIN rail (clips included) or via an adaptor plate for panel screw fixing. IP20 on the front face keeps finger-safe access; IK04 impact rating handles light panel tool contact.
