Overview
The HMIRSPHXA6701 is a Schneider Harmony iPC industrial rack PC, order code HMIRSPHXA6701, built around an Intel Xeon quad-core processor running at 3.1 GHz with 8 MB L3 cache. It ships with 4 GB DDR3 RAM installed (expandable to 32 GB), a 500 GB hot-swap enterprise hard drive, and a DVD-RW drive, preloaded with Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit. Housed in a 4U 19-inch rack-mount chassis rated IP40, this unit draws 500 W from a 240 V AC supply and includes six expansion slots (3 PCI, 4 PCI Express 16x) plus dual Ethernet, four USB 2.0, two USB 3.0, and serial ports.
The Intel Xeon quad-core 1225 at 3.1 GHz handles demanding SCADA, visualization, and data-logging tasks without offloading to a separate controller. The 4 GB default RAM supports moderate runtime applications; the 32 GB ceiling allows expansion for larger databases or multi-window HMI sessions. Integrated Intel HD Graphics 2500 drives displays up to 2048 x 1536 pixels via VGA or DVI. The front-panel DVD-RW supports software installation and backup. Dual Gigabit Ethernet ports enable network separation between plant-floor and office LANs, while the four serial COM ports (one standard, three optional) connect legacy PLCs, barcode scanners, or serial printers.
Applications
This class of 4U rack PC serves as the central HMI and data server in industrial automation lines — packaging, material handling, water treatment, and discrete manufacturing. It runs operator interface software (Vijeo Designer or EcoStruxure Operator Terminal Expert) and can host third-party SCADA packages, database servers, or edge analytics directly on the Windows 7 platform.
