700 A resistive-load contactor — what the ratings mean for fit
The LC1F5002 is a 2-pole TeSys F contactor rated 700 A in AC-1 utilisation category at ≤440 V, 40 °C. AC-1 covers resistive loads — heaters, ovens, lighting banks — where the switching current equals the steady-state current. This is not a motor-starting contactor; the AC-3 rating would be lower. The contactor carries 2 NO power poles. The control circuit accepts 48-1000 V AC 40-400 Hz with LX1/LX9 coil options, or 48-440 V DC with LX4 coil. Inrush power is 1050-1150 VA AC; hold-in drops to 16-20 VA.
Lifecycle status — EOL hot, plan the replacement
Mechanical durability is rated 10 Mcycles. Maximum operating rate is 2400 cycles/hour at 55 °C. Heat dissipation is 18 W total, 88 W per pole in AC-1 duty.
Standards compliance and mounting
The LC1F5002 is certified to IEC 60947-1, IEC 60947-4-1, EN 60947-1, EN 60947-4-1, and JIS C8201-4-1. Rated insulation voltage is 1000 V per IEC 60947-4-1, 1500 V per VDE 0110 group C. Overvoltage category III. IP20 front face with shrouds per IEC 60529 and VDE 0106. Mounting is plate-mount — not DIN rail. Dimensions: depth 9.1 in (232 mm), width 9.2 in (233 mm), height 9.4 in (238 mm). Power circuit terminals accept ring lugs up to 240 mm² or bar 40 x 5 mm, bolted connection. Tightening torque: power circuit 35 N·m, control circuit 1.2 N·m. Associated fuse rating: 500 A aM or 800 A gG at ≤440 V. Rated breaking capacity 4000 A per IEC 60947-4-1; rated making capacity 5000 A AC. Operating altitude up to 3000 m without derating.
