DC switching at 250 A continuous
The LC1E250PCH2S260N is a 1-pole DC contactor from Schneider Electric's Easy TeSys range, rated for 250 A continuous current on resistive loads. It switches up to 1000 V DC, with a minimum switching capability of 0.1 A at 8 V DC — so it handles both high-current main circuits and low-level control signals without welding or failing to break. The coil is DC-operated, accepting 12...32 V DC with a hold-in consumption of 2.4 W and an inrush of 28 W. Drop-out occurs between 0.1 and 0.75 Uc, meaning the contactor releases reliably even on a sagging control bus.
Resistive load duty and short-time ratings
This contactor is specified for resistive load applications per IEC 60947-4-1 and GB/T 14048.4. Electrical durability is 1500 cycles at 750 V DC, 250 A (breaking only, 0.6 s open / 5.4 s break), and 1000 cycles at 1000 V DC, 250 A under the same duty — so it's built for infrequent but high-stress DC switching, not continuous motor starting. Short-time ratings allow overloads: 375 A for 10 min, 500 A for 5 min, 1000 A for 20 s, and 2000 A for 0.3 s. The average impedance is 0.5 mOhm at Ith 250 A, keeping voltage drop under 0.125 V at rated current.
Physical fit and environmental limits
Dimensions are 3.2 in deep, 2.6 in wide, 2.9 in tall (81.3 x 66.5 x 74.3 mm). Mounting is vertical support only — no horizontal or upside-down installation. Power circuit terminals use M8 bolts with flat and spring washers; torque to 70.8...88.5 lbf·in (8...10 N·m). Operating temperature range is -40...185 °F (-40...85 °C), and it operates up to 4000 m altitude without derating. Vibration resistance is 5 g at 10...500 Hz; shock is 20 g for 11 ms.
