Spec and fit for the BOM line
The LC1E65008M5WBIN is a 4-pole contactor from the Schneider Electric Easy TeSys Control range, rated for 85 A in AC-1 utilisation category at ≤415 V AC. That 85 A figure governs resistive loads — heaters, ovens, lighting banks — not motor starting. The 220 V AC 50 Hz coil is a wide-range control circuit type, so it pulls in reliably between 0.7 and 1.25 Uc and drops out between 0.3 and 0.6 Uc across -5 to 55 °C. Pole configuration is 2 NO + 2 NC with no auxiliary contacts built in — if your circuit needs aux switching, you add a separate block.
Dimensions are 85 mm wide, 127 mm high, 125 mm deep — that depth matters when you are laying out a shallow enclosure. Power circuit terminals accept 2.5 to 25 mm² flexible with cable end (or solid up to 25 mm²); control circuit terminals take 1 to 4 mm². Tighten the power terminals to 5 N.m, control terminals to 1.2 N.m. No special torque driver needed, but a calibrated screwdriver keeps connection resistance repeatable. Heat dissipation runs 6 to 10 W through the control circuit, plus 6.4 W per pole in AC-1 duty. Average impedance per pole is 1 mOhm at 85 A 50 Hz.
Durability and switching performance
Mechanical life is rated at 5 million cycles; electrical endurance at 350,000 cycles under AC-1 conditions. Maximum operating rate is 1200 cycles per hour at 60 °C. Closing time is 20 to 26 ms, opening 8 to 12 ms — fast enough for most on/off resistive switching, not intended for high-speed chopping. Rated making capacity is 650 A at 440 V AC; breaking capacity is 520 A at 440 V. The associated fuse recommendation is 125 A gG at ≤690 V, coordination type 1, so the fuse clears before the contactor welds on a bolted fault. Vibration resistance is 1.5 Gn (open) and 3 Gn (closed) over 5 to 300 Hz; shock resistance is 6 Gn (open) and 7 Gn (closed) for 11 ms. That is adequate for most industrial panel environments but not for direct mounting on a reciprocating compressor or engine block.
