What the 200 A AC-1 rating means for your BOM
The LC1F1154R6 is a 4-pole contactor from the TeSys F range, rated 200 A in AC-1 utilisation category at <= 440 V. AC-1 covers resistive loads — heaters, lighting banks, and non-inductive circuits — where the current inrush is minimal. The 200 A figure is the thermal current (Ith) the main poles can carry continuously; for motor duty (AC-3) you would need to derate significantly, so this part is not a first choice for switching induction motors. The 4 NO pole configuration gives you four normally-open power contacts, each rated for the full 200 A when paralleled or used independently on separate load legs.
Coil and control circuit constraints
The control circuit is AC at 60 Hz, rated 440 V. That is a non-standard coil voltage for many regions — 50 Hz installations or 230 V control transformers will not drive this contactor. The hold-in power consumption is 55 VA at 60 Hz, cos phi 0.3; inrush at pickup is 660 VA. The voltage limits are 0.85 to 1.1 Uc for pickup and 0.35 to 0.55 Uc for drop-out, both at 55 °C. If your panel runs a 50 Hz control bus, this coil will overheat or fail to seal — confirm the control voltage before specifying.
Plate-mounted — no DIN rail adapter included. The 171 mm depth, 200.5 mm width, and 162 mm height require a backplate with clearance for the power circuit connections: bar or busbar up to 20 x 3 mm, or ring-terminal lugs for 95 mm² cable. Tightening torque on the power circuit is 10 N.m; control circuit screw clamps take 1.2 N.m. The front face with shrouds achieves IP2X per IEC 60529 and VDE 0106 — finger-safe but not sealed against moisture. For washdown or outdoor enclosures, the contactor itself needs a separate enclosure rated to the environment.
Breaking capacity and protection coordination
For short-circuit protection, the associated fuse ratings are 125 A aM or 200 A gG at <= 440 V. The rated impulse withstand voltage is 8 kV, and the insulation voltage is rated at 1000 V per IEC 60947-4-1 or 1500 V per VDE 0110 group C.
Environmental and endurance specs
Mechanical durability is 10 million cycles — the contactor body and armature are built for high-cycle applications like resistance welding or cyclic heater control. Maximum operating rate is 2400 cycles per hour at 55 °C. The TH protective treatment means it is tropicalised for humid or corrosive environments. Heat dissipation is 12 to 16 W total, with 15 W per pole in AC-1 duty — factor that into your enclosure thermal budget.
