TeSys F 1700 A Contactor — AC-1 Duty, 125 V DC Coil
The LC1F1700GD is a 3-pole contactor from the TeSys F range, rated 1700 A in AC-1 utilisation category — that's the full-load resistive current at 40 °C, so it's sized for large heating banks, furnace loads, or high-current distribution switching where the load current stays sinusoidal and inrush is minimal. Control is 125 V DC standard, with a pickup range of 0.85 to 1.1 Uc and dropout between 0.2 and 0.35 Uc at 55 °C — the wide dropout margin means the contactor drops cleanly on a sagging DC bus without chattering. Power circuit connections are bolted bar-type, accepting up to 100 x 5 mm busbars, torqued to 58 N.m — that's a substantial connection, not a spring-clamp terminal block.
The LC1F1700GD is flagged end-of-life hot (EOL), meaning the manufacturer has ceased production and the last-time-buy window has closed.
Ratings & Withstand
Rated insulation voltage is 1000 V per IEC 60947-4-1, with an impulse withstand of 8 kV — overvoltage category III, so it's suitable for fixed-installation distribution panels with transient exposure. Short-time withstand: 10 kA for 10 seconds, 7.5 kA for 30 seconds, down to 3 kA for 10 minutes — these numbers govern coordination with upstream protective devices and tell you the contactor can ride through a delayed fault without welding. Associated fuse rating is 1600 A gG at ≤ 440 V — that's the maximum back-up fuse for short-circuit protection under the AC-1 duty. Heat dissipation is 10 W holding at 20 °C, with 200 W per pole under AC-1 load — the 10 W coil loss is negligible, but the 600 W pole dissipation means the panel needs ventilation or forced air at full load.
Plate-mounted — no DIN rail clip here. Dimensions are 438 mm wide, 332 mm high, 238.6 mm deep. At this frame size, the contactor is bolted directly to a backplate or sub-panel. Altitude rating is 3000 m without derating. Protective treatment is TH (tropicalized) for humid environments. Compliant with JIS C8201-4-1, IEC 60947-1, EN 60947-4-1, IEC 60947-4-1, UL 60947-4-1, and CSA C22.2 No 60947-4-1 — the full suite of global contactor standards for industrial control equipment.
