TeSys F 275 A Contactor — End-of-Life Sourcing Note
The Schneider Electric LC1F185X622L is a 3-pole TeSys F contactor rated for 275 A in AC-3 duty (motor switching) at ≤ 440 V AC, making it the right fit for 90 kW motors on a 400 V line or 125 hp under UL/CSA at 460 V. The 275 A AC-3 figure governs real motor loads — the contactor's thermal current (Ith) is also 275 A, so there's no derating gap between the resistive and motor ratings at this frame size. It carries 2 NO + 2 NC auxiliary contacts built in, saving a separate aux block on many panels.
AC-3 covers squirrel-cage motors: starting current around 6–8× FLA, switched off at full speed. The same contactor also carries AC-1 (resistive) loads at the same 275 A thermal current, and AC-4 (inching/plugging) at a derated 33 kW at 400 V. If your application involves frequent reversing or jogging, the AC-4 rating is the limiting factor — not the 275 A headline. Motor power ratings span the voltage range: 90 kW at 380–400 V, 100 kW at 415–440 V, 110 kW at 500–690 V, and 100 kW at 1000 V AC — all in AC-3. On UL/CSA duty, it delivers 125 hp at 460 V and 150 hp at 575 V. The control circuit is 600 V AC 60 Hz, with a pickup range of 0.85–1.1 Uc and dropout at 0.35–0.55 Uc at 55 °C.
Mounts to a plate — not a DIN rail — so factor in the footprint: 7.1 in (181 mm) deep, 6.6 in (168.5 mm) wide, 12.008 in (305 mm) tall. Power connections are bolted, accepting two 25 x 3 mm bars or ring terminals up to 150 mm². Control circuit wiring uses screw clamp terminals accepting 1–4 mm² flexible or solid. Tightening torque: 159.3 lbf.in (18 N.m) on the power circuit, 10.6 lbf.in (1.2 N.m) on control wiring. Front face achieves IP2X with shrouds fitted (per IEC 60529 and VDE 0106), which is finger-safe but not splash-proof — keep it inside a closed panel. Protective treatment is TH (tropicalized/humid environment), so it handles high-condensation enclosures better than a standard untreated contactor.
Certified to IEC 60947-4-1, EN 60947-4-1, IEC 60947-1, EN 60947-1, and JIS C8201-4-1. Overvoltage category III, rated insulation voltage 1000 V per IEC 60947-4-1 and 1500 V per VDE 0110 group C. Associated fuse sizing: 200 A aM or 315 A gG at ≤ 440 V.
