TeSys F power contactor for resistive loads — LC1F2254V5
The Schneider Electric LC1F2254V5 is a 4-pole contactor from the TeSys F range, rated for 315 A in AC-1 utilisation category at ≤ 440 V and < 40 °C. That AC-1 rating means it is specified for resistive loads — heaters, ovens, lighting banks — where the current waveform stays sinusoidal and inrush is minimal, unlike the AC-3 motor-duty rating a different variant would carry. The 4 NO pole configuration gives four independent normally-open power poles, so it can switch a three-phase resistive load plus a neutral or a separate heater zone on the fourth pole, all within one device. The control circuit is AC-operated at 400 V, 50 Hz, with a hold-in consumption of 55 VA at 50 Hz, cos φ 0.3. Inrush at pickup is 805 VA under the same conditions. The coil pickup and dropout limits are 0.85–1.1 Uc and 0.35–0.55 Uc respectively at 55 °C, so a control voltage sag below 340 V AC risks dropout on a warm panel day. Closing time is 20–35 ms; opening takes 7–15 ms.
Mounting is plate-based — this is a bolted-down power contactor, not a DIN-rail snap-on. The footprint is 208.5 mm wide by 197 mm high by 181 mm deep. Power connections accept bar (busbar cross-section 32 x 4 mm), ring-lug terminals for 185 mm² cable, or bolted connection. Control circuit wiring uses screw-clamp terminals accepting 1–4 mm² flexible or solid, with or without ferrules. Tightening torque is 35 N·m on the power circuit and 1.2 N·m on the control circuit. The front face with shrouds carries IP20 protection per IEC 60529 and VDE 0106, meaning it is touch-safe from the front but not sealed against dust ingress — install inside a panel with a door. The TH protective treatment indicates tropicalisation for humid environments.
Rated insulation voltage (Ui) is 1000 V per IEC 60947-4-1 and 1500 V per VDE 0110 group C. Impulse withstand voltage (Uimp) is 8 kV, overvoltage category III. The rated breaking capacity is 1800 A per IEC 60947-4-1. Associated fuse ratings are 315 A gG or 250 A aM at ≤ 440 V. Heat dissipation is 18–24 W total, with 32 W per pole in AC-1 duty. Average impedance is 0.32 mΩ at Ith 315 A, 50 Hz.
