What the 2600 A AC-1 Rating Means for Your BOM
The LC1F2600V7 is a 3-pole contactor from the TeSys F range, rated for 2600 A in AC-1 utilisation category at <60 °C. That AC-1 rating governs resistive loads — heating elements, furnaces, lighting banks — where the current waveform is nearly sinusoidal and inrush is minimal. For motor duty (AC-3 or AC-4), the contactor must be derated per the manufacturer's curves; the 2600 A figure is not the motor-switching current. The coil is 400 V AC 40...400 Hz, with an inrush of 2500 VA and a hold-in of 45 VA at 20 °C. Per the specification, the control circuit voltage limits are 0.85...1.1 Uc for operation and 0.3...0.5 Uc for drop-out at 55 °C.
Mounting and Integration — Plate-Mount, Not DIN Rail
Mounting support is plate, not DIN rail. The contactor measures 519 mm wide, 382 mm high, and 251 mm deep. Power circuit connections use bar terminals accepting up to three cables per pole with a busbar cross-section of 100 x 10 mm. Control circuit connections are screw clamp terminals accepting 1...4 mm² flexible or solid cable. Tightening torque is 58 N.m on the power circuit and 1.2 N.m on the control circuit. The IP20 front face with shrouds (per IEC 60529 and VDE 0106) provides basic finger protection but is not rated for washdown environments.
Electrical Performance and Protection Coordination
Rated insulation voltage is 1000 V per IEC 60947-4-1 and UL 60947-4-1. Rated impulse withstand voltage is 8 kV, overvoltage category III. The rated breaking capacity is 3900 A per IEC 60947-4-1. Short-time withstand current (Icw) is 12,000 A for 10 s, 9000 A for 30 s, 7000 A for 1 min, 6000 A for 3 min, and 4000 A for 10 min at 40 °C. The associated fuse rating is 2500 A gG at ≤440 V. Operating time is 40...80 ms closing and 100...200 ms opening. Maximum operating rate is 600 cycles per hour at 55 °C. Heat dissipation is 40 W total, with 250 W per pole in AC-1 duty. The contactor is compliant with EN 60947-4-1, IEC 60947-1, IEC 60947-4-1, JIS C8201-4-1, UL 60947-4-1, and CSA C22.2 No 60947-4-1.
